When Associates Solutions, Inc. secured a rapidly expanding Arkansas commercial real estate organization as an Acumatica client prospect, the Lenexa, Kansas-based VAR recognized that providing property management functionality as part of the package would play a critical role in successfully winning the business.
“This real estate owner is a relatively young company with a very bright future,” noted Associates Solutions’ Matt Winship, Director of Consulting Services. “Its rapid expansion is taking place across multiple business units – as a landlord renting space to retail tenants, as an operator of event facilities and as a commercial developer. There is an absolute need for a property management component as part of its ERP platform.”
Enter Totowa, New Jersey-based Integrated Business Systems (IBS) and Imperium Powered by Acumatica.
Launched in 2016, Imperium is a cloud-based property management system built on Acumatica’s Cloud xRP Framework. It extends the power of Acumatica’s ERP product with a fully integrated, industry-specific solution to address the requirements of residential and commercial real estate owners and managers. The Imperium software offers deep strength stemming from IBS’s four-decade development history, particularly in the areas of escalations and recoveries, lease abstracts, and utility and tenant service billing. It also integrates seamlessly with best-in-class applications across multiple real estate services categories.
“We examined what is out there and available, and Imperium became the clear choice,” Winship said. “The product functionality offers everything a real estate organization needs to capture revenue and expenses across every property and project type. It also fits right into the Acumatica framework, which is a huge benefit. Additionally, the IBS team served as an invaluable resource from the outset, demonstrating the advantages of the product and helping this client’s leadership become comfortable with their decision.”
IBS Product Manager Steven Hirsch remained closely involved through the implementation process, which kicked off in mid-October. “In short, we were there to ensure that Imperium was fully operational and bridge the learning curve,” Hirsch noted. “And we remain available for ongoing support and updates moving forward as Associates Solutions works to meet its client’s evolving needs.”
The customer hit the ground running with Acumatica and Imperium to begin the new year. “They have been rocking and rolling following a smooth deployment,” Winship said. “IBS was a big part of that. Steven, especially, was receptive, responsive and helpful from start to finish. Imperium is a great tool – one that extended our firm’s vertical reach into the commercial real estate sector.”
For IBS, the relationship with Associates Solutions is promoting geographic expansion. IBS launched its legacy property management/accounting system in 1979 and is a recognized New York/New Jersey regional leader in its niche. Today, IBS products and services reflect several generations of technological advancement.
“The experience with Associates Solutions has been terrific,” Hirsch said. “Ultimately, this is a great illustration of Imperium’s viability and potential to provide a sound platform for owners and operators of real estate nationwide through the Acumatica Partners network.”
