Network Services Success Stories
Where do companies look for advice when things go wrong with their enterprise network? For Manhattan-based Andrews Building Corporation, IBS was the logical choice.
The condo/co-op management firm is a long-time IBS property management and accounting system user. When the company became dissatisfied with its network services provider, owner Naomi Andrews contacted IBS’s Scott Donnelly, Director of Sales and Marketing.
"Naomi reached out to me as a business partner and someone who knows computer systems," Scott said. "She asked if I would meet with them to help them decide the best course of action. That meeting evolved into a formal relationship with our Network Services division."
A significant player in the New York City market, Andrews manages approximately 300 condo, co-op and rental properties.
The IBS team was hired to provide support and expertise in running and securing the sophisticated system already in place, designed by Tom Milstein, Executive Director of IT services at Andrews. Additionally, Andrews purchased a new backup domain controller. That second server immediately kicks in if the main server fails. It also automatically launches nightly backups, tests and verifies their success, and generates emails that report the results to both Andrews and IBS.
"We essentially upgraded Andrews’ existing network and recommended a higher level of protection," Scott explained. "We also have recommended a long-term plan that will further enhance its performance."
"IBS has proven itself to be as good in the Network Services department as in the accounting software business," noted Tom Milstein. "We adopted IBS as our first automation system 20 years ago and have stuck with it ever since. During the past decade, we have become an extremely computerized company through many departments, with sophisticated network requirements. IBS’s Network Services division has evolved along with us and today offers the depth and breadth of expertise that we require company wide."
"While our relationship on the software side provided an 'in' for our Network Services team, our capabilities ultimately secured this expanded relationship," Scott noted. "We look forward to working with Andrews as a valued partner in both capacities for many years to come."
